Considering the 2030 horizon and beyond, AABNet is well-placed to contribute considerably to sustainable development goals. By fostering strategic collaborations and partnerships, AABNet can scale up breeding programmes and streamline operations and services to improve overall efficiencies. A key focus will be realizing sustainable livestock genetic gains and disseminating these to farmers across national boundaries. AABNet is progressively identifying partners with the expertise, motivation, and resources to support its livestock genetic improvement efforts. Discussions have been initiated with academic institutions and commercial organs. AABNet will also leverage continental initiatives to create opportunities for genetic improvement with support from relevant stakeholders.
